 Permit Overview

The Yellowstone Park permit is a park wide backcountry horse permit.  The current outfitter has taken packtrips into Yellowstone Park since 1979.  There is unlimited use and an advanced reservation system that begins in January for the designated camp sites throughout the park.  The process to transfer it is a little complicated and could take up to a year.

Gallatin National Forest Permit

Lee Metcalf and Cabin Creek

Permit Overview

The Gallatin National Forest permit is in the Lee Metcalf wilderness and the Cabin Creek game management area.  It is administered through the Hebgen Lake Ranger district and consists of:

133 priority overnight summer days
62 priority day use fishing days
18 priority day use horseback days
 7 priority sheep/goat hunting days
There is also bow hunting days available that are not priority.  When the permit changes hands the new owner could establish priority days.  That would have to be worked out with the USFS.

There are 4 different camp locations, 3 in the Lee Metcalf wilderness and 1 in the Cabin Creek game management area.

$75,000

Broker Comments:  Great usage permit in Yellowstone Park and the Gorgeous Wilderness area of the Lee Metcalf and Cabin Creek.  Good addition to existing outfitting businesses or for a summer pack trip/fishing operation.
